Some people are still going on about how offensive Ricky Gervais was while hosting the Golden Globes. Â I was finally able to watch some clips from the show, and I thought Gervais was brilliant. Â Abrasive, but brilliant. Â And he warned them that he was going to up the ante from last year, so they should have listened to him.
I think one of the problems is that actors are so used to being praised that they lose perspective about themselves. Â If you can’t laugh at yourself, life can be long and dreary.
Not everyone was offended. Â In fact, one of my favorite actors showed he had a sense of humor by making a joke about the “tone” of the show.
