I finally watched On the Waterfront, and unlike some other “classic” movies, it actually stood up to the test of time.

It’s a story that will probably never age–the power of one person standing up for what is right, no matter the cost.

Marlon Brando was good in the role of Terry Malloy, an ex-fighter of questionable intelligence.  It’s hard to play someone like that well, and it’s often overdone.  A recent example of an actor who does this exceptionally well is Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter.

I would recommend On the Waterfront to anyone who has not seen it.  It’s worth watching.
